Five Reasons that all Women should Learn Martial Arts:

  1. Training Martial Arts improves your mental and physical strength.
    • Sparring (practice during training) or grappling (ground-fighting practice) for 3-5 minute rounds is absolutely ruthless cardio, which is why fighters are usually in top notch physical condition. There is no treadmill or elliptical in the world that can outdo the benefits of the dedicated practice of martial arts.
  2. Training Martial Arts teaches honor and respect.
    • Rooted in tradition, training martial arts will teach you to honor their respective cultures and customs. It will also teach you to honor and respect your own mind and body – to quiet self-doubts and to respect and care for your body.
  3. Training Martial Arts helps you to set and achieve goals.
    • Practicing a martial art will help in two dimensions. First, it helps you to set and achieve your own goals and to monitor your progress toward those goals through your in class performance, your competition performance, or your progress through the belt ranking systems. Second, you will have a consistent coach is who pushing you to better your game and to achieve on a daily basis.
  4. Training Martial Arts helps you to gain confidence and boost self-esteem.
    • When you know how to fight your mind is a little calmer, a little freer, and a little more relaxed. These benefits absolutely translate to your career and social life.
  5. Training Martial Arts builds camaraderie.
    • When training at a martial arts gym you will meet a whole bunch of people with similar interests as you. You get to hang with other like-minded people while kicking butt and taking names.
